Alfred Soto: Last time out, I was relieved he has warmth and evidence of empathy. What he doesn’t have is imagination: it’s 2018 and twenty-year-olds sing paeans to beautiful angels. Whatever else she may be, Camila Cabello is not an angel, at least not in song, bless her.

Tobi Tella:Mine” was effortlessly likable, one of those songs you could put on and nobody would protest. You can see more of the cracks here, with the attempted cuteness factor turned up to 11 and getting a little grating. However, just like “Mine,” I can’t help but like this a little, especially with the added Camila verse which gives the girl in question her own voice and makes it feel more like a complete song.

Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: Did Camila Cabello try to disguise that she’s on this song by going mono-name? Because this is flavorless enough (especially in Bazzi’s mealy-mouthed come-ons, which balance corny and horny in equal parts) that it would be entirely understandable.

Edward Okulicz: Even if calling a girl an angel isn’t fulsome and patronising, Bazzi squeezes at each reading of the titular word in a way that suggests he might be some kind of creepy stalker type. It just sounds sickly.

Will Adams: CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER: Ed Sheeran, fawning over you via schmaltz-waltz and acoustic guitar, or Bazzi, doing the same but with a hybrid The Weeknd/G-Eazy impression. Note: there’s a bug in this cartridge that causes both players to lose.

Stephen Eisermann: You know that guy who peaked in high school but somehow managed to tie down a girl who had so much potential and now they’re just young parents, trying to make the whole 9-5 thing work? This song is a real conversation they had at one point, and, yeah, it’s kind of sad, huh.
