Which means they’re not only untalented, they’re also liars.

Tim de Reuse: There’s something inherently funny about a song that uses a preposterous amount of vocal pitch correction and bathes in an expensive-sounding mix while trying to act dismissive about Instagram fakery. Funny, but also kind of sick, and not something that’s actually pleasant to hear.

Ashley John: Florida Georgia Line’s crossover chameleon antics don’t bother me much, because it’s mostly felt like they are just living up to the thing they were built to be, an experimental vessel for country-tinged radio collaborations. Left alone to their own devices though, and we get a song that lacks any substance at all. In their recent singles, there was at least something to drill into, to get revved up about. Choosing to inhabit the zombie bodies of 2014 folky pop rock is equal parts boring and irrelevant.

Stephen Eisermann: There’s no hiding a pop song behind some banjo chords, but what’s really concerning is how the entire time this played I kept wondering how it would sound with Selena Gomez’s voice instead of FGL’s voices. I’m not sure who that is worse for, but I do know that the truth is this song is mediocre and uninteresting with a chorus too verbose to even follow along.
