Though there is a trophy for “Most ‘Meh’ Reception”…

Anthony Easton: This sounds so soft, quiet, seductive, almost peaceful. Considering the lyrics are supposed to be chaotic and agitated, the juxtaposition is a bit unsettling.

Alfred Soto: With a high, pinched voice reminiscent of Erykah Badu, Chia drifts over the sequencers and rattling nineties drum programs as a sound, a tone, but not quite a person. A confusing track: I can’t figure out what she or her producers want to say.

Daniel Montesinos-Donaghy: There’s an allure to Chia’s song that, despite all intent, is never reached. It’s well-produced, well performed, but there’s a spark missing from the recording.

Scott Mildenhall: Not the sound of discomfort as much as competence, which is a start, but not really a satisfactory conclusion. Being lost in your mind as opposed to simply losing it is perhaps fairly apt though; Chia seemingly doesn’t realise she’s spending about four and a half minutes going nowhere.

Brad Shoup: Too tight-assed. Chia may not summon the fiercest gale, but this isn’t a lean groove, it’s a weak wind, and I love singers meeting their match, not some trebly holding pattern.

Will Adams: “I’m stuck on rewind,” she sings. The track responds heartily, “Done and done!”
