It’s the weekend! Time to dance dance dance!

Thomas Inskeep: Is this Russian footwork? Because, huh, that’s a concept I’d never considered – and I’m into it.

Wayne Weizhen Zhang: Moody, grimy, dynamic Russian house music that couldn’t sit still if it wanted to. “TRAXXXMANIA” earns every “x” in its title.

Alex Clifton: For a while I’ve failed to understand the “try not to dance” challenges on TikTok, mostly because I’m very good at following directions — I can stare dead-eyed into a camera and not move for a full moment even if I like the songs because that’s what you’re supposed to do (although I guess it doesn’t make for very fun viewing, hence why I’m not the biggest new star on the platform). This helped me understand it, though — I found myself inadvertently twitching as it played. It’s simple, it’s short, and pretty effective as a jolt of energy for the day.

Nortey Dowuona: I picked this for the dumb name. I like the surging, plaintive chords and the hammering house drums. But GONE.Fludd is a pretty dull rapper, who blends into the beat so much there doesn’t seem to be a reason to have a rapper. There’s also a Kendrick Lamar sample in here if you listen closely. But I don’t know, couldn’t Izaya Tiji get a hold of this instead?

Juana Giaimo: I feel I would enjoy this a lot more without the vocals. They are too invasive and even with all the effects they still sound monotonous and when the beat gets significantly faster, it’s just too much for my head.

Edward Okulicz: I’m not sure what’s doing it, but listening to this song makes me feel like I’m losing focus, no matter how keenly I listen. Built for the repeat function on your music player or YouTube, but I can’t grip on no matter how many repeats. Maybe it’s just a numbing nothing, but I think something with a lot of caffeine or a lot of alcohol might help.

Ian Mathers: Sometimes you can even make “there’s no ‘there’ there” into a virtue, if you’re lucky.

Alfred Soto: Give it this: it does not want to stop.
