October 6, 2026

What the fuck going on today? Why, it’s an all rap duos theme day!

David Allun Jones: A fairly standard Southern-fried trappin’ n twerkin’ entry, “WTF Goin” benefits from an out-of-time element that could see it being a hit as-is at any given point since the Y2K New Year’s ball dropped, especially with Belly Gang sounding like an amalgamation of like fifteen different rappers from that same time span. Also of note: every BGK couplet nailing the self-pleased arrogance from your most “Hustle Is Life” Instagram buddy’s feed captions. It’s 21 Savage that really wakes this up a notch beyond rote though (even when he himself is coasting creatively), his juvenile delinquent cocktail of deadpan menace and twisted NC-17 humor as entertaining as it ever was.

Thomas Ruan: Belly Gang Kushington is so thoroughly uncharismatic on this track that it’s a relief when 21 Savage, even at this above average level of indifference, shows up.

Callie Petch: “Hoooo-kaaahs!” C’mon! How can you not fall for a wonderfully stupid delivery like that? Combine that with the early-’00s minor-key synth string preset that used to indicate somebody on Aftermath was gonna vividly describe the ways in which they’ll skewer you, and you got me sold despite any prior reservations.

Charlotte Gaze: Not the best “WTF Goin” in recent memory, but it’ll do in a pinch. It has a similar carefree bounce, and the world could always use more of that. And might I add, I much prefer 21 Savage in this mode to the bland introspection of his recent albums.

Nortey Dowuona: Veteran producers Musik MajorX, Kuttabeats, B100, and SquatBeats, who assembled this smooth, light to the touch but funky lil pop rap gem, should all demand full royalites for this song. There’s some boring no-name and this some boring ass Brit who rapped on this and even shot a video of their funky lil song? Without paying? Weird behavior — oh wait.

Julian Axelrod: Devastated to learn that listening to Belly Gang Kushington is not as fun as saying Belly Gang Kushington. As a rule, the tubas should not be louder or more interesting than the rappers.

Jel Bugle: Maybe I’m getting old, losing touch with the kids.

Alfred Soto: Young, dumb, and not enough cum.
