Brooklyn rapper and TSJ’s first use of ¯_(ツ)_/, couldn’t be on a better track…

Crystal Leww: Junglepussy has a strong voice, and she’s totally unafraid of letting loose the nastier aspects of her being. On “Fuck Texting,” she’s the crazy insecure bitch who is vengeful, angry, greedy, and desperate. And yet, she wastes no opportunity to remain boastful, pointing out that she pays his phone bill after all. It’s an incredible display of multitudes packed into a neat package with squirmy, lurching beat. Also, despite the fact that it’s 2014 and Kanye killed them, rap skits are still great, a perfect place to display intriguing voices and interesting inflections.

Alfred Soto: At last someone’s written “Call ya mama, ask her straight up, ‘Why ya son a ho?'” Junglepussy’s heady flow spares no one. Shy Guy’s beat snaps and traps.

Thomas Inskeep: Roxanne Shanté x Azealia Banks, simple as that.

Brad Shoup: I am absolutely inclined to knock off for the co-sign from Vice “put this on heavy rotations” Media, but any time they’re getting used it’s happy hour, so let’s thrill to details like “my boy cousin” and the Crime-Mob-’til-Infinity flow. And hell, most of the second verse reads like a defense of the other woman, so there’s something for everyone before you even get to the ¯_(ツ)_/¯ bassline and the scrambled synth spangles.

Scott Mildenhall: Sounding just about legally different to “The Model” is a good foot to get off on. The paranoia it evokes and the attendant threats of retribution are another, if a bit one note.

Anthony Easton: How she says the word “stingy”, how she pulls the “y” out like the stinger of a hornet, is one of the most erotic things I have heard this year. The rest of the track is fascinating in its overproduction, but ending on the voicemail, and ending that voicemail with that reading — genius.
