We’ve got some writing outside the world of pop music to bring to you this week:
- For Slant Magazine, Joshua Minsoo Kim reviewed the new Phuttiphong Aroonpheng film Manta Ray.
- Kim also, with a number of other writers (including Tara Hillegeist) reviewed, for Tone Glow, eleven films featured as part of the Museum of Modern Art’s New Directors / New Films 2019 series.
- Hillegeist also wrote, for Bullet Points Magazine, “Today, I Felt Nothing,” about presentation, compassion, and induced paranoia in the game Anthem.
- For The Cresset, Josh Langhoff wrote about Larry Norman’s Upon This Rock and the history of popular Christian music.
- Langhoff also contributed a piece to Living Lutheran Online, with tips for introducing new songs to congregational audiences during Holy Week.
- Edited to add: In fact, we have even more works to bring you: Claire Biddles appeared on the podcast This Is Your Mixtape and posted a tribute to Scott Walker on Medium. We screwed up not including these earlier for your enjoyment, and we apologize.
