Get ready for a nagging earworm…

Will Adams: Did we really need empirical evidence that the “We No Speak Americano” machine would exhibit diminishing returns?

Iain Mew: It’s difficult to figure out who is behind this. The singer is definitely Edita Piekha and the piano twinkles are from that original too. Who turned it into such an addictive rhythmic pretzel is another matter. Though it’s taking off in the Netherlands, formerly successful British act Ultrabeat’s wiki claims it as theirs, but [citation needed]. Whoever it is, thank you, but I wish you’d chosen a different name. Not only does this one imply a strangeness and gaucheness which are lacking in the charming record, but the World Taekwondo Federation have already taken up the position of excuse to use that acronym for the summer.

Brad Shoup: I’m not sure how I feel about the Doop-ification of Soviet popular-music singers. Piekha’s vocals are only sparingly fucked with, but they’re too assured to suit to the track’s gonzo shuffle. I do like the artificial elongation of the sax riff; a bolder producer could make it the star.

Patrick St. Michel: The big-dumb beat is catchy and the Russian sample is cute, but there isn’t much here beyond that. Besides, this just seems like a more worldly Crazy Frog.

Colin Small: This kind of sounds like a more refined version of “Mr. Saxobeat”. It is, however, far less memorable.

Anthony Easton: Manic and amusing, with some pretty competent percussion. Around 2:29, where the noise recedes like open curtains and her voice emerges, things get a bit less overstuffed.

Jonathan Bogart: I’m kind of hoping that the “brainless ripoffs of ‘We No Speak Americano'” trend becomes so popular that it stops being a trend and turns into its own genre. I want to hear the vernacular pop music of the 40s, 50s and 60s from all around the world turned into goofy dancefloor nonsense; I want the entire world to be united by cheesy local piffle.

Alfred Soto: Exploitation is a global phenomenon.
